President’s Message
Welcome to a New Chapter at North Star!
I’m excited for what’s ahead in this new season of North Star International. After twelve years of attending our annual conference, I continue to be deeply inspired—by your stories, your faith, and your courage. That’s why we’ve given our conference a new name: INSPIRE. It’s more than a title—it reflects what this community has consistently been for me and so many others. Each year, I’ve come away with renewed strength, practical insights, and a deeper desire to follow Jesus Christ. I’ve learned how to reconcile my experience of same-sex attraction with my covenants, and I’ve been reminded that I’m not alone on this path. This community helped me reach upward, take the Savior’s hand, and walk forward with Him.
As we step into this next chapter, our focus remains on connection and Christ. Our leadership is prayerfully working to strengthen this community by encouraging meaningful friendships that point us to the Savior—the true source of healing, clarity, and peace. At the intersection of faith and LGBT experience, He is not only present—He is the way forward. As Paul wrote, “Who shall separate us from the love of Christ?… Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us” (Romans 8:35, 37). We believe that divine love is real, and it reaches each of us exactly where we are and invites, encourages, and inspires us to change.
We also want to hear from you. What helps you feel seen, supported, and spiritually grounded? What resources or connections have strengthened your testimony and your journey? Please share your thoughts with us. Your voice matters as we strive to create a space where each person can “work out [their] own salvation with fear and trembling” (Philippians 2:12), supported by community and guided by the Spirit.
INSPIRE will be special—not only because it’s our 13th annual gathering, but because it marks the 20th anniversary of North Star International’s founding. What began with just a few faithful individuals—Ty, Jeff, and their friends—has become a global movement, testifying that it is possible to be true to both your faith and your experience, even in a world that often says otherwise. For two decades, North Star International has been a voice of hope and possibility.
I know this personally. There was a time I didn’t think it was possible to hold on to both my identity and my testimony. I considered giving up. But this community showed me something different—and it changed the trajectory of my life. I’ve come to believe in a deeper way that “with God all things are possible” (Matthew 19:26). My journey has not always been easy, but it has brought me closer to Jesus Christ.
So, welcome. Come and feel the Spirit. Listen to the stories of people who’ve found peace and purpose in Christ. Let your heart be inspired to believe, even just a little more, in God’s love and power in your life. This is a new chapter—for North Star, and maybe for you, too.
Welcome to INSPIRE 2026!
