Justin Vance
Justin grew up in Idaho knowing he was a loved son of God. His mom taught him that his life had been saved for a great purpose. Throughout his school years, he stayed near the top of his class, participated in music, theater, and soccer, and remained close to his three younger brothers. He dreamed of becoming a teacher and author, but had to fight for it through struggles with his mental health.
By age twelve, Justin discovered he was attracted to both men and women. Afraid of what this meant, he mostly kept this to himself until he met his now-wife, Jenny.
Justin attended Utah State University, but took a break to serve a Spanish-speaking mission in Colorado. After 19 months he returned and continued his education, still navigating the complexities of his faith and sexuality. While earning two degrees, he met, married, and began a family with Jenny. Their son is often too smart for his own good. Justin loves reading, and Jenny teases him that he only married her for her books. He maintains that this is only 32 percent true; she is also the most faithful person he knows.
