Martin Reid
Martin Reid is widely regarded as “one of Britain’s most exciting emerging portrait artists.” He is best known for his hyper-realistic charcoal portraits created using a distinctive dry-brushing technique with traditional Chinese brushes.
Recently he has been asked to paint for the new temple being built in England, and is currently painting a series called Finding Light, a collection of portraits of the life, teachings and attributes of the Saviour.
“When painting I came across the saying that when you find yourself in darkness, think not that you have been buried, but have been planted! – Art has transformed my life, it has taken me from a period of inner darkness and has led to light and purpose. It is a true joy to create and to share those with others that connect with both the paintings and the meanings behind them.”
