Orion Maxfield, M.S.

Orion is a clinical mental health counselor in training with a master’s degree in Psychology and a strong foundation in crisis intervention and acute care. Born and raised in Salt Lake City, Orion has spent much of his career working on the front lines of mental health, serving as a certified crisis counselor and Therapy group leader at Huntsman Mental Health Institute. There, he specialized in triage and support for individuals in immediate psychological distress.

Grounded in Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, Orion approaches each client with a goal-oriented, strengths-based lens, emphasizing resilience, clarity, and practical outcomes. He is deeply committed to providing compassionate, individualized care, especially to those navigating complex identity and mental health challenges.

Orion currently serves as the Executive Director of the Gender Harmony Institute, a nonprofit organization dedicated to offering evidence-informed, alternative therapeutic approaches to individuals experiencing gender-related distress. Under his support, the Institute advocates for holistic, non-invasive care options that prioritize psychological well-being, informed decision-making, and long-term support.
