Wes Matheson
Wes was born and raised in Oakland, CA. He received his BS in Sociology from BYU in 1966 and MS in Social Work from Fresno State in 1970. He worked for 23 years for LDS Family Services and served as State Director for them in Nevada and Utah. He has worked for a number of years for many different community agencies in Nevada and Utah. He was an Adjunct Professor for 28 years in BYU’s School of Social Work. He retired from the Utah State Hospital after 13 years as Director of Social Work. He has had a part-time private practice for 37 years with 9 additional years in full-time practice since “retirement”. He has worked extensively doing individual and marital therapy. He served as a clinical consultant in 1993-4 to Evergreen. He presently is serving for a second time as a bishop in Orem where he lives with his sweetheart, Lois. They have 3 wonderful children, daughter-in-law, and 2 granddaughters.
