We are excited that you would like to host a local event.
The following are some key tips to ensure a successful event.

North Star International is looking for volunteers who want to help plan simple, uplifting local activities for our growing North Star community.

You don’t need to be an expert event planner.

You only need to be welcoming,
organized, dependable,
and ready to make memories!

Whether it’s a fun game night, watching a Church broadcast, or a fun-filled summer pool party, every event is designed to help people feel included, connected and loved by their Savior. Let’s make memories!!

Each event is organized by the host who coordinates and creates an experience that reflects North Star’s mission. Ideas for events can include:

  • Family home evenings
  • Watch parties (North Star firesides/conferences, church firesides, etc.)
  • Casual gatherings (host a game night, go to a movie, attend a local community event, go to the park)
  • Larger gatherings (activities, games, service projects, etc.)
  • Pot-luck dinner

How to Get Started

  1. Fill out the form.
  2. Meet with the VP of Regional Communities.
  3. Plan your activity.

During the Event

  • Communicate basic event details to the VP of Regional Communities.
  • Coordinate refreshments, when applicable.
  • Create a respectful and uplifting environment.
  • Help the event reflect North Star’s mission and values. (If you have questions about North Star’s community expectations, please review the Online Community Commitments as a guideline.
  • Welcome guests and help them feel included.
  • Have attendees sign a media release for so we may post pictures of your event on our social media pages or website.
  • Take some pictures pictures to share!

Pin Club

Each Local Event may include a small “Pin Club” activity as a fun extra. Guests can join a simple pin raffle, and each attendee will receive a custom North Star pin for that year. These pins give people a small keepsake to remember the friendships and connections made at the event.
