Jim Kasen

Having been born and raised in a dual-religion home (LDS and Catholic), Jim learned, at an early age, the importance of religious commitment and spiritual development. Such a background proved very beneficial as he served a mission to the Philippines. It has also proven to be extremely valuable as a single member of the Church who has never married. He considers himself deeply blessed to have had the opportunities to home teach, to serve as a gospel doctrine teacher, a counselor in two branch presidencies, a counselor in a bishopric, and a high councilor in three different stakes. Presently, he home teaches three single sisters (one a widow, one a paraplegic with Muscular Dystrophy, and one a divorcee with five children), and he serves as a high councilor, the stake choir director, and a ward organist. Jim has also given various workshops on dealing with the experience of codependency and depression. The subjects of Human Behavior, the Challenges of Mortality, and the Gospel are some of his greatest interests and loves.
