TRAVIS

Travis was raised in a large family on a small farm in Northern Utah.   After returning from his mission to Chile, he felt prompted to seek employment as a teacher at the Missionary Training Center for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Provo, Utah where he has continued to be employed since 1984. He graduated from Brigham Young University with a degree in Geography, focusing his studies on climate and weather.

Travis has spent the past 30 years restoring their 1897 Victorian style home while raising his family and serving in many church callings. He has a lot of nervous energy and finds great joy in gardening, cooking, landscaping, beekeeping, and attending to his beloved “girls”, his small flock of chickens.

He has facilitated a men’s support group for the past four years and is currently serving as a board member for North Star.

MARGARET

Margaret was born and raised in Nephi, Utah where she loved adventuring outdoors on her motorcycle and swimming at the local pool with her sister, Liz. She received her associate degree from Snow College in Ephraim, Utah and then attended Utah State University before leaving on a mission to Denmark for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. After returning home and moving to Provo, she met and married Travis in the Salt Lake Temple in August 1985. They have six children and three grandchildren whom they adore.

She has served in various capacities in the Church over the years, but her favorites have been teaching Institute and serving with her husband as he presided over the Texas Houston Mission from 2005-2008. She still loves adventuring and can be found most weekends at their sweet little cabin in Central Utah.
