BOARD OF DIRECTORS
SARRAH GROVES
Board Member
Sarrah Hurst-Groves was raised within the teachings of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and is eternally grateful for goodly parents that taught her from birth to love the Lord enough to keep His commandments which often means putting aside her own ways and reaching for His. She has found her path through life’s ups and downs, experiences and challenges by relying on the restored gospel. Her deep love for her Savior and the atonement has brought her a sense of peace that permeates all aspects of her life. She believes that her dedication to living the gospel and aligning herself with God’s plan surpasses any personal achievements.
In her professional life, Sarrah served as the Director of Special Business Events for a Fortune 500 company which afforded her many opportunities and exciting experiences. She has also worked on school boards and company boards and now the North Star international Board of Directors. She has owned several businesses. Today, she is the sole proprietor of The Pottery Grove, a clay arts studio in Montrose, Colorado. She has a passion for art, nature, and using her hands and mind to solve problems.
Sarrah has been involved with North Star since its first conference in 2014. She has a desire to assist fellow members of the community navigate same-sex attraction and gender identity issues while staying on the covenant path and adhering to the teachings of Jesus Christ as revealed by modern prophets, because she knows first hand that is the only way for members of the Church to find the eternal peace they seek.
Outside of her professional accomplishments, Sarrah cherishes her roles as a mother of two and grandmother of one.
She firmly believes that her greatest joys come from living her faith and loving her family. If she were to express a personal mission, it would be: “The gospel of Jesus Christ offers solutions to every problem and answers to ever question and as we live in harmony within it we reap, wisdom, love, and everlasting peace and joy. The gospel alone has the power sufficient to bring about exaltation. All blessings flow from living in harmony with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.”
