Erik grew up in Utah. Although he never really left the Church, Erik struggled for years to find where he belonged in the gospel. One powerful influence that brought him back to the truth that Heavenly Father loves him was the Spirit Erik felt while listening to Tabernacle Choir at Temple Square. He is a pianist and vocalist and has always had a love for wonderful music. Erik believes that each child of God is unique and loved by God and by Jesus Christ, and that Their love and the miracle of the Atonement extends to everyone, including and especially those who are LGBTQIA+, whomever, and wherever they are on their individual journey.
Erik is an advocate for those who are in addiction recovery and those who are gay, or single, or both, who may be struggling to find their place in the Gospel. He believes that the Lord wishes for everyone, if they choose, to follow the covenant path and participate fully in the service, peace and blessings that are found in the Temple. His hope is that everyone he knows will feel loved, valued, and appreciated for who they are; that everyone will know their true worth through coming closer to Jesus Christ.
