Matt Draper

Matthew R. Draper currently works as a Professor of Psychology in the Department of Behavioral Sciences at Utah Valley University. He earned a doctorate in Counseling Psychology from the University of Texas at Austin, and previously served as Director of Clinical Training at Indiana State University. His research interests focus on the theology and philosophy of love and compassion and how these ideas can be applied both within a psychotherapy setting as well as in daily life. Clinically he has worked in counseling centers, refugee trauma clinics, hospitals, and super-maximum security prisons. He maintains a private practice to apply the principles he teaches in and out of the classroom.
