Session Description:
The world is not afraid to talk about homosexuality, and many of our youth are only hearing what the world has to say. Join with other ecclesiastical and auxiliary leaders in this facilitated discussion to learn how to create an open and comfortable dialogue so that youth who experience SSA and those who love them will feel safe in seeking help from gospel-centric sources. We will share ideas for how to teach, strengthen and bless youth affected personally by SSA; how Priesthood and Auxiliary leaders can support parents of children who experience same sex attraction; how to create a comfortable environment to discuss homosexuality from a gospel-centered perspective; and, since most youth who experience this will first talk to a peer, we will discuss how to give other youth tools to discuss this issue with their SSA peers in a way that affirms gospel principles while showing love and support.
